The LA trip was a great way to get experience networking with professionals and also to learn about what it takes to make it in this extremely competitive industry.  The Hollywood Hoosiers mixer also showed us that there is a network of alumni from IU willing to help and answer questions to prepare us for future internships and jobs.  Aside from the meetings and networking, seeing the sights and staying in LA during this trip helped me decide if it was a place where I could see myself living and striving towards my dream of working in the movie business.

I was exposed to the business side of the entertainment industry which I previously knew nothing about.  I feel so much more confident about what route I want to go when I graduate.

It was wonderful to meet so many people who were not much older than me, succeeding in the business I want to work in when I graduate in a year and a half. It was so inspiring to see young men and women from the midwest building successful careers and networks and it made me much more confident that I can follow my dreams out in L.A. too.
